Riven Tides — Patch Notes 1.26.0

Patch 1.26.0 brings Riven Tides to Arc Raiders: a new coastal map, a new floating ARC enemy, and a weapon-economy rebalance aimed at evening out weapon attrition between heavy-PvP and casual playstyles.

What’s New

Riven Tides Map

A new map exploring an abandoned shoreline — the Exodus port and the lost luxury of the Panorama Azzurro hotel.

The Riven Tides map

Beachcombing Map Condition

A new minor map condition exclusive to Riven Tides. Search the beaches for buried treasure — bring the right tool for the job, and be ready for unexpected discoveries.

Beachcombing on Riven Tides

New Enemy: ARC Turbine

A new floating ARC machine patrols the skies of the Rust Belt. What it does, and how to counter it, is for you to find out.

The ARC Turbine

Expedition Window

A new Expedition Window system, allowing for late departures.

New Items

  • Powered Descender — Epic Gadget
  • Crash Mat — Uncommon Throwable
  • White Flag — Common Deployable
  • Dockmaster’s Detector — Common Gadget

New Player Project

  • Avian Alarm

Last Resort Event

Earn merits by collecting ship models and via XP across the different maps to earn rewards. The five ship models: Wind Sprite, Twilight Compass, Velocity, Sirena Dorata, and Leviathan’s Crown.

Trials Season 4

  • The Solare Set
  • The Rachetta Set
  • New Augment: Tactical Mk.3 (Smoke)

Embark’s dev note: with another Tactical Augment added, they acknowledge some Augments — particularly the Combat Augments — are not performing as well in their roles as intended. A general balancing pass for Augments is in the works to buff underperformers, most especially the Combat Mk.3 (Flanking).

Balance Changes

Weapon Economy

The weapon economy had grown unbalanced: heavy-PvP players faced constant hard decisions about their weapons while casual players accumulated them. These changes challenge all players with weapon attrition and add new ways to combat it.

  • Repair on upgrade — upgrading a weapon now repairs 25% of its max durability.
  • Weapon drop & durability — weapon spawns around the map outskirts are reduced to raise the value of high-tier areas and locked rooms. The range of spawn durability is widened and the average outside locked rooms is lowered: average durability on spawned weapons reduced from 50 to 30. You might find a 15-durability weapon on the outskirts but still find ~60-durability weapons in locked rooms.

Durability loss on shot — high-tier weapons now last longer relative to low-tier ones:

  • Common: +75% durability loss on shot
  • Uncommon: +50%
  • Rare: +35%
  • Epic: −5%
  • Legendary: −10%

Durability loss on being knocked out — to keep heavy PvP viable, durability loss on a knocked-out player’s weapons is halved, from −30% to −15%.

ARC

  • Removed Comets from standard sessions in the Dam Battlegrounds.
  • Heavily reduced Firefly presence in the Dam Battlegrounds.
  • Reduced Comet presence in Buried City.

Embark’s dev note: Comets and Fireflies had raised the difficulty of beginner-oriented sessions too much; their presence was reduced in the most-affected sessions.

Gameplay

  • Stella Montis — adjusted Exodus recyclables loot distribution to spread more evenly across containers.

Items

  • Vaporizer Regulator — stack size increased from 1 to 3.
  • Trigger ‘Nade — added a 1s delay after the throw action and a 1.3s delay after the trigger action before the next throw/trigger is allowed. You can no longer throw a new grenade while triggering a previous one, which reduces Trigger ‘Nade spam.
  • Photoelectric Cloak — weight increased from 1 to 3 to match its rarity and cost; power use rate increased from 2.5/s to 10/s. The cloak had been over-performing on uptime; this adds more intentionality between uses.

Weapons

  • Bettina — base damage increased from 14 to 16; base fire rate reduced from 285 to 235; per-shot dispersion reduced ~40% (slower bloom); dispersion recovery time improved ~30%; damage against ARC armor increased ~33%.
  • Heavy Ammo — stack size increased from 40 to 60.
